Physiotherapist
Sophia Boyd
Sophia graduated from Mcmaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She joined the Sheddon team following graduation, spending a year working as a Physiotherapy Assistant before moving to London, England to pursue her Master’s in Physiotherapy. She completed her degree at Brunel University of London, graduating with distinction in 2025.
During her training in England, Sophia gained diverse clinical experience across a range of settings, including pitch-side care for professional women’s rugby teams as well as inpatient hospital units such as the ICU. In addition to her clinical background, she was a lifelong competitive soccer player, giving her a strong appreciation for sports related injuries and the physical and mental demands of returning to play. Together, these experiences have shaped her approach to delivering patient-centred, goal-oriented, and collaborative care, working closely with patients to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Outside the clinic, Sophia enjoys staying active, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about physiotherapy and is dedicated to empowering her patients throughout their rehabilitation, with the goal of getting them back to doing what they love.
