Chiropractor
Andrej Truyen
Dr. Andrej Truyen completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in commerce and played varsity men’s soccer at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He then finished his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in North York, Ontario. His interest in becoming a chiropractor stemmed from his own injury history as an athlete, and became solidified after shadowing a variety of chiropractors and physiotherapists in the GTA over the last 8 years.
Over the past year, Andrej has worked as a chiropractic intern, gaining hands-on experience in treating a wide range of injuries, including those in athletes, post-surgical patients, and individuals with workplace- and motor-vehicle-related conditions.
Andrej uses a combination of adjustments, mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, and exercise prescription to treat musculoskeletal conditions. He completed the ISS integrated needling program and is licensed to provide acupuncture as well. He defines a successful patient encounter as one in which the patient is fully informed about their condition, collaborative goals are established, and a blend of hands-on and active treatments is provided to improve function, alleviate pain, and prevent recurrence.
Learning is a continuous process, and Andrej will be completing continuing-education courses for concussion treatment and other areas of interest in the near future. In his spare time, he enjoys watching and playing almost every sport, weight training, music/concerts, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
